Connecting And Disconnecting With The App

Always check the tariff of a charge point BEFORE connecting your vehicle.

CONNECTING:

Generally, the order to follow when connecting your cable to a charge point is:
1.  Connect your cable to your car

2.  Open the app and locate the charge point by entering the 5 digit code or searching for it in the search bar by location.

3.  Select the charge point (if on the map, select the "i"). Selecting "Check live status" will let you know the last known status of the charge point (the maps updates every few minutes and the charge points 'check-in' to the server every few hours'.)
N.B. the tariff is displayed next to the CPID in the format "£0.00 per hour"

4.  Select the connector you need and select "Start Charge".  If this is your first charge session, you will be requested to register a payment card, at this point.

5.  Only when the unit invites you to, connect to the charge point, where your cable will lock in to place.

6.  Select "Begin Charging".  It may take a few moments for a charge to initiate.

At a rapid charge unit with tethered cables (N.B. not all vehicles can use these charge points.  The UK Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Association can help you determine which equipment you car can use, or check with your dealer.):
1.  Open the app and locate the charge point by entering the 5 digit code or searching for it in the search bar by location.

2.  Select the charge point (if on the map, select the "i") and select the type of connector you need for your vehicle.
N.B. the tariff is displayed next to the CPID in the format "£0.00 per hour"

3.  Select "Start Charge" and only when the unit invites you to, connect to the tethered cable to your EV, and, if applicable for your connector, lock in to place.

5.  Select "Begin Charging".  It may take a few moments for a charge to initiate.

DISCONNECTING:

If a unit is tariffed by time spent connected, ensure you fully end the session on the app and give yourself enough time to disconnect from your vehicle.  Failing to end the session on the app, even if you press stop on the unit, could result in the unit continuing to bill you for the session.

1. Open the app again (only the app that started the charge can end it)

2. Select "activity", indicated with a clock icon.

3. Select your current session and select "End Charge".  Wait for the unit to respond and ask you to disconnect, ensuring your charge has fully ended

4. Push the cable in to the unit and pull to release

5. Close the door or replace the socket cover.

6. Disconnect your cable from your car.  Your vehicle may require you to perform an action to 'unlock' the cable from the car.

At a rapid charge unit with tethered cables:
1. Open the app again (only the app that started the charge can end it)

2. Select "activity", indicated with a clock icon.

3. Select your current session and select "End Charge".  Wait for the unit to respond and ask you to disconnect, ensuring your charge has fully ended on the app and the charge point

4. Carefully disconnect your cable from your car, using the appropriate method to disconnect for your chosen connector (for example, a CHAdeMo with a trigger needs the button on the top pressed to release the trigger lock) and replace the connector in the cradle
